A Porsche 911 RS tribute backdate has been done so many times but as our first full restomod build we thought we needed to be on common ground to invite comparisons

I'm thrilled to present to you the iconic Porsche 911 with the legendary 2.7 engine. This 1974 RHD model had been with the previous owner since 1990 and is in great condition. The perfect base for our planned restoration.

The Porsche 911, particularly with the 2.7 engine, embodies the essence of Porsche's racing heritage and engineering excellence. Introduced in the early 1970s, the 2.7 engine brought significant improvements in power and performance, making it a favourite among enthusiasts and collectors alike. Its lightweight design, combined with its air-cooled flat-six configuration, delivers a thrilling driving experience that truly captures the spirit of the golden era of sports cars.

Now, imagine harnessing the timeless beauty and performance of the Porsche 911 2.7 and infusing it with the spirit of the renowned RS models in a 'backdate' style tribute. The RS lineage is revered for its track-focused design and performance enhancements, making it the ideal inspiration for our restoration project. By incorporating design elements such as the iconic ducktail spoiler, lightweight bumpers, and sportier suspension setup, we can pay homage to the RS lineage while elevating the 911's performance and aesthetics to new heights.

But why stop there? To truly unleash the potential of this classic beauty, we can further enhance its track capabilities with carefully selected modifications. Upgrades such as a roll cage for enhanced safety, high-performance brakes for improved stopping power, and a tuned suspension system for sharper handling can transform the 911 into a formidable track machine without compromising its timeless appeal. Additionally, lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tires will ensure optimal grip and agility on the track, allowing drivers to push the limits with confidence.

In essence, the Porsche 911 with the 2.7 engine is the perfect canvas for a RS tribute in the 'backdate' style. By marrying the timeless design of the 911 with the performance heritage of the RS models and incorporating track-ready modifications, we can create a restomod masterpiece that not only honours Porsche's racing legacy but also delivers an exhilarating driving experience that is second to none. Whether on the open road or the racetrack, this meticulously crafted masterpiece will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on enthusiasts and aficionados alike.

Now this is a well trodden path. A Porsche 911 RS tribute backdate has been done so many times but as our first full restomod build we thought we needed to be on common ground to invite comparisons. In this crowded space we will build a car that will identify as a RARA car. A very smart tribute but with demonstrable track capability that will set it aside.
