Lamborghini Murciélago Full Restoration
From accident-damaged structure to a fully refinished shell, this 2003 Lamborghini Murciélago is undergoing a comprehensive, documented restoration across its chassis, V12 drivetrain, suspension, braking system, interior and bodywork.

The restoration
The project began with an assessment of the visible accident damage. Detailed inspection and measurement subsequently established that the right rear chassis structure was distorted, with parts of the rear frame measuring up to 10 mm out of square.
To provide unrestricted access, the engine and gearbox were removed before the body was positioned and measured on a Cellette jig. Damaged structural sections and brackets were fabricated or remanufactured, allowing the rear quarter and surrounding chassis structure to be returned to the correct tolerances.
The work extends far beyond the body shell. The suspension, hubs and braking assemblies have been dismantled, cleaned and assessed; interior leather and trim components have been repaired and retrimmed; and the V12 engine has been stripped for detailed inspection and measurement.
Body panels were repeatedly dry-fitted and aligned before the shell progressed through primer, blocking and formal quality-control inspections. In June 2026, the shell and doors were fully topcoated to Auto RARA’s Lustra X standard, followed by curing, flatting and polishing.
Current position
The painted shell is now being finished while the remaining panels, trim and mechanical components progress in parallel. V12 component assessment and parts sourcing are continuing ahead of the controlled rebuild and reassembly phase.
This build diary will continue to follow the restoration through mechanical assembly, final panel fit, commissioning and completion.
